New USPS Rate & Service Changes Coming July 9, 2023
Updated: Jul 14, 2023
Starting July 9, 2023, USPS is merging First-Class Package Service® and Parcel Select Ground® into a new and improved ground service called USPS Ground Advantage™.
What is USPS Ground Advantage?
USPS Ground Advantage is an affordable and reliable way for you to ship packages up to 70 lbs in 2-5 business days - which is business as usual with no change in delivery time if you typically ship First-Class or Parcel Select.
Here's what you can expect:
Ground Advantage rates for packages UNDER 1 lb (previously named First Class Package) are staying the same.
Ground Advantage rates for packages OVER 1 lb (previously named Parcel Select) are mixed, meaning some rates are decreasing up to $3, and some are increasing up to $1.06.
Priority Mail rates are decreasing up to $4.83, meaning Priority Mail is a faster and more affordable way to ship packages in 1-3 business days.
Free package pickup at your home, store, or office.
Ground Advantage is the primary option for sending hazardous materials (HAZMAT) that are only mailable using Ground Transportation.
If you typically ship First Class or Parcel Select on Ship.com, then starting July 9th, simply look for the new name called “Ground Advantage.”
